We came from Yosemite and looking for a nice food to eat. All that we see is american foods until we found this restaurant. The food is really good and worth it. I liked the hot and sour soup and egg flower soup. We ordered Family B for dinner and we only paid $35+ the menu says good for 2 but it is actually good for family of 3-4. We had to take the leftover food home because the serving is a lot. We also liked the cream cheese wontons. The server is also very friendly. My daughter doesn't really like people but she liked the server. We will definitely be back again next time. Thank you
Amazing atmosphere with top tier service. The waiter was super chill and kept the entire table laughing the entire meal. The meal was the best I’ve ever had in Asian cuisine. Literally get any meal and it will be the most authentic and super fresh!! Put this place on the map.
Anna and Tommy are friendliest people you will ever come across. Food is the best in town, service top notch and atmosphere warm and welcoming. I'm here every weekend for my War Wonton soup.....outstanding and packed with meat, veggies and wontons!
Very surprised to find this high quality Chinese restaurant in Oakdale! I’ve been driving by it for 30 years but because it’s out of sight from 120 it gets far less traffic than it would otherwise. The owners are a family from Hong Kong and so there is a strong tradition of fresh vegetables and high quality meat and seafood. The seafood is especially surprising. There is a “hidden” Chinese menu consisting of verbal descriptions the family can give you in Cantonese or Mandarin in addition to good English! Don’t be shy about asking them to make whatever you want - and maybe ask for extra strong seasoning and flavor to overcome the “American Chinese “ level of spice in all the normal dishes. The portions are enormous - very generous! And the family is very charming and friendly - ask for “Bruce Lee” who actually is a talented and experienced actor and cast in a major role in a Hollywood film shooting later this year (2026). Don’t hesitate - just go!
Really authentic food. Super nice server. Highly recommend the Hong Kong Style Chow Fun. Lighter and less salty than regular chow fun—just like we get in HKG!
We stopped by after a trip to Yosemite and were warmly welcomed into Bamboo Garden. Anna and Tommy took care of us and treated us like family. Hot tea and dishes served quickly. So impressed with the beef chow fun noodle dish - good wok hei and bbq pork ribs in classic Cantonese style with savory/sweet balance. Hot wonton soup was good on a cold day and had lots of veggies. Prompt service, fresh ingredients, and good portions. Highly recommend.
We ordered eggplant, Mongolian beef, and Kung Pao chicken. The portions were generous and the flavors were very good-more on the authentic Chinese side. It was a great stop to fuel up before heading into Yosemite, and my parents were very satisfied. Great service!
A delicious, hot, freshly prepared meal! Especially appreciated after exploring Yosemite National Park. No MSG in the food so wasn’t sleepy as I continued driving Black Pepper Beef Steak came on a sizzling metal pan and it was tender and so flavorful. Comes out piping hot steaming! Sauce is black pepper fragrant and a bit salty and sweet. Wow presentation House Chow Mein Noodles were excellent with a combo of beef, shrimp, cha siu pork, chicken and all the veggies. Nice wok hei flavor here! Bean sprouts were right texture not overcooked Veggie dish was sort of like a bok choy and fresh either garlic stir fry. Server recommended it and said it was grown on their property! Ask for other off menu seasonal greens! We also had hot tea which was lovely. The server was so attentive and friendly. He is also so talented speaking English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish! We overheard him using all language skills across tables. Portions are good size and prices are great value for customers to enjoy. Server says he will be in some movies in the upcoming year, so wish him the best of luck doing that plus running this lovely restaurant!
Very nice owner! The recommended dishes by her were all very authentic and tasty! Garlic lettuce is super fresh, locally grown. Fish was very tender, tasted like tofu. Sizzling chicken yummy too!
This place is a hidden gem! Every single dish is amazing and authentic! We were super lucky to get a chance to get a wild-caught fish from the nearby lakes and it was incredible! They don’t always have it but they do have an array of authentic Cantonese food on a secret menu - just ask! Would recommend anyone to stop by, they are extremely accommodating to your taste preferences and really fun to talk with!
